Part description

Product description
The device is an active field distributor for the fieldbus systems Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus H1. The device complies with protection class IP66/IP67. Functional description The device connects up to eight field devices with one fieldbus segment. An adjustable current monitoring per spur line protects the trunk line from short circuits or overload (see figure B1). Suppressor diodes protect the connected field devices from surge voltages. The M20 cable glands of the trunk line have two sealing levels for armoured cables. The armouring can consist of steel wire (SWA, Steel Wiring Armouring), steel tape (STA, Steel Tape Armouring) or steel wire braiding (SWB, Steel Wire Braiding). Non-armoured cables can be connected as spur lines. The device FBCon * R-T has M16 cable glands for the spur lines. The device FBCon * R-TS has M20 cable glands for the spurs. Stainless-steel screw inserts integrated into the cover gland allow the device to be used in saline atmospheres. A red LED indicates a short circuit or overload on the spur line. A green LED indicates sufficient voltage supply on the trunk line. The device supports earthing concepts with multi-point screen earthing or single-point screen earthing. The earthing concepts are explained in the Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus guidelines.
