Smart Metering

The energy infrastructure is changing: More decentralized generators such as PV systems and the growing use of electrical consumers are increasing load fluctuations in the power grid. This makes grid operation more difficult. According to Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), generators and consumers must be controllable, usually via digital signals from the smart meter gateway. Many existing analog devices only have simple switching inputs. The EEBUS Relay Converter (ERC) connects the digital smart grid and analog technology. It receives EEBUS control commands and converts them into standardized relay circuits according to the VDE-FNN control concept. This makes analog devices controllable in accordance with Section 14a EnWG and Section 9 EEG.
